One of DSACs most popular programs is the week-long performance Summer Intensive class. Kids are taught triple-threat performance in acting, voice & dance by master teachers with expertise in one of these areas. Students also perform in a live cabaret and work with industry professionals during the week.

The week includes:

  • Vocal and Song Interpretation for Musical Theatre with Bob Marks

  • Audition & Acting Technique with Monologue and Scene work

  • Improvisation Training

  • Master Dance Class with Broadway Cast Member

  • Audition Workshop with Broadway Casting Director

  • Live Performance in an NYC Landmark Cabaret for friends, family, and industry pros

*Classes will take place midtown in a large studio with windows. We will observe all Covid safety protocols. Due to covid, space is limited to twelve participants.

Robert Marks

Robert (“Bob”) Marks is a voice teacher, coach, conductor, arranger, author and director. He has been Special Guest Instructor at the Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah Conservatory in Virginia, The New York Singing Teachers' Association (NYSTA) Professional Development Program at Columbia University, The Voice Foundation Symposium: Care of the Professional Voice, and at NYU's Steinhardt School of Education. His students have included Natalie Portman, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, Lea Michele, Constantine Maroulis, Sarah Jessica Parker, Debbie Gibson, and Ashley Tisdale.

Alison Franck

Alison Franck (CSA) is a casting professional with over 20 years of Broadway, Off-Broadway, Touring, Regional Theatre, TV, Film, Commercial and Voice Over Casting experience. For a decade, she was the Casting Director for the prestigious regional theatre Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, where she cast over 50 productions with some of the theatre community's finest talent. Notable credits at Paper Mill include the Broadway transfer of I’m Not Rappaport starring Judd Hirsch and Ben Vereen, Anything Goes starring Chita Rivera, The Full Monty with Elaine Stritch, and was the original Casting Director behind the Broadway transfer of Godspell, which included Telly Leung and Uzo Aduba.

From a young age Michelle has dedicated her life to the performing arts, following a strong passion and never looking back. She is committed to passing on her ambition to the next generation. Michelle comes to you with hands on experience and knowledge. Being in the business for over thirty years and counting, Michelle has worked and been part of all facets of the performing arts. She knows the ins and outs of what it takes to put your best foot forward in the audition process, making it a fun experience!
